Examples of Podcasting @ the University of Wisconsin – Madison

podcasting @ the university of wisconsin – madisonexamples of podcasting

There is no better way to learn how to use podcasting than to listen to examples. The University of Wisconsin, Madison has four good examples posted on their Podcasting page. This is a good sampling because it’s not the traditional lecture examples. They have an example podcast of recordings of individuals around Wisconsin that is used by students in Folklore 540 – Local Culture and Identity in the Upper Midwest. Another example podcast provides help from Learning Support Services, for third semester German courses.  It explores the use of idiomatic language in German. A third podcast is for for students in Psychology 202: Introduction to Psychology.  It elaborates on the concept of negative reinforcement, which is often confused with the concept of punishment. And finally a fourth podcast guides students in Consumer Finance 275 through an assignment that requires them to obtain and analyze a credit report from the annualcreditreport.com website. These are good examples and will hopefully get you thinking about some ideas for podcasting in your own courses. Visit their site to have listen. They also provide more information on creating your own podcasts, including Five Steps to Designing Podcasts that Teach.
