Feed2Podcast is a website that makes it possible for you to turn your written blog into a podcast. The wizard creates audio podcasts from your existing RSS Feeds. This tool will let you create Podcasts in seconds. This is how it works. Use any blog on the internet that you either read or write. Take the RSS feed and input it in the Feed2Podcast wizard and it will instantly turn it into a podcast. The wizard uses either a male (Brad) or female (Angelina) voice to read the written text in the blog. It sounds like a computer voice, but it’s not bad.
The wizard then gives you the html code to put on your blog, if it’s your blog you are turning into a podcast. The code creates badges for iTunes, both PC and Mac, and a Listen Now button.
Students or subscribers can listen right from their browser or subscribe and listen via iTunes. The service is free, but they put a short advertisement for Feed2Podcast in each post, which can be annoying if you are listening to several posts in a row. You can get rid of the ads with a small fee of $12 for the year.
This is a great option for people who like to write, and don’t have time to create podcasts. I use it for my students on a blog that I update after each class session. I post class updates three times a week, and students have the option to either read or listen to these posts.
